SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Centers - Jamestown, KS.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its obligations is the oversight of opioid treatment programs, which are programs who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab programs in Jamestown are programs who are officially allowed to give out the drugs used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive auxiliary services aside from medication like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab center can receive initial approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment facilities authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment facility is certified, it must be re-certified every year or every 3 years depending on the type of accreditation it has been given.
