The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to advance the mental health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency.
