The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehab programs, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients.
