The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to advance the behavioral health of the United States. One of its duties is the administering of opioid treatment programs, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Drug administered are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent people.
