The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid treatment programs, which are centers which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted people.
