DWI Clients - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Programs - Norway, KS.

DWI clients in treatment need to complete specific requirements to satisfy the conditions of their sentencing. Treatment facilities which help satisfy these court requirements and conditions, which are usually more lenient than normal sentencing such as steep fines and incarceration, are available in Norway to provide educational services, counseling, and further evaluation for serious alcohol or drug issues.

Education is a fundamental tool used at rehab programs treating DWI clients. There are various levels of alcohol education classes which can vary by state. Level I education classes usually include 12 hours of education about the effects and dangers of drugs and/or alcohol. This is the what a person with a first offense or someone under 21 will commonly be required to complete. Level II DWI classes would include both substance abuse education and therapy at a program which is approved by the courts. How long an individual will have to remain in therapy depends on various considerations, which can be, for example, the number of DWI's the offender has had, and the seriousness of the violation. Most often clients will be required to take the Level II DWI classes and therapy unless their blood-alcohol content level was extremely low when they were arrested and there weren't any other serious infractions when the person was arrested.
