The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to advance the mental health of the U.S.. One of its obligations is the oversight of opioid rehab programs, which are programs who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted people.
