The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its obligations is the oversight of opioid rehab programs, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medicine administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients.
