The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid treatment programs, which are programs who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction.
