Regular out-patient rehab is mostly a less costly choice to more intensive outpatient centers or inpatient treatment, and is the least intense of formal substance abuse treatment available in Bays. Some individuals are attending treatment for their first time and have chosen regular outpatient because of the cost and commitment to time wise and logistically because of school, work or other obligations. For many, regular outpatient is a downgrade from rehab in a more intense outpatient facility such as a partial hospitalization or inpatient facility.
Regular outpatient recovery options involve individual and group counseling services delivered once or twice a week. Programs which offer a wider array of services may include counseling (behavioral therapy) to assist with relapse prevention and dual diagnosis services to help respond to co-occurring substance abuse and mental health issues. The length of time a client stays involved in treatment can vary, and a client's progress can be evaluated from time to time and an extension of treatment can be suggested based on these evaluations.
In some cases, a regular outpatient rehabilitation program may be lacking in intensity for an individual who is facing a chronic drug and alcohol issue and has not experienced treatment before or has fallen off the wagon after prior outpatient rehabilitation.
