Regular outpatient recovery is mostly a less costly alternative to more intensive outpatient centers or inpatient treatment, and is the lowest intensity of formal substance abuse treatment available in Premium. Some individuals are in rehab for their first time and have picked regular outpatient because of the cost and time commitment and logistically because of school, work or other obligations. In some cases, regular outpatient is a step down from rehab in a more intense outpatient center such as a partial hospitalization or in-patient facility.
Regular outpatient rehab services include group and individual counseling services occurring once or twice a week. Programs which include a more diverse array of services may include counseling (behavioral therapy) to assist with relapse prevention and dual-diagnosis services to help address co-occurring addiction and mental health issues. How long an individual remains involved in recovery can change from client to client, and a client's improvement can be judged every now and then and an extension of rehab can be recommended contingent upon these evaluations.
In many situations, a regular outpatient rehab facility may be deficient in intensity for a client who is dealing with a bad drug and alcohol issue and has not gone to treatment before or has fallen off the wagon following prior outpatient rehabilitation.
