Regular out-patient rehabilitation is usually a less expensive alternative to more intensive outpatient options or inpatient treatment, and is the least intense of formal drug or alcohol treatment available in Epps. Some clients are attending rehab for the first time and have picked regular outpatient because that is all they can afford and time commitment and scheduling because of school, work or other obligations. In some cases, regular outpatient is a step down to service following treatment in a more intensive outpatient facility such as a partial hospitalization or inpatient center.
Regular out-patient rehabilitation options usually offer group and individual counseling services delivered once or twice a week. Centers that include a wider range of services may include counseling (CBT) to help with relapse prevention and dual diagnosis services to help respond to co-occurring addiction and mental health issues. The length of time an individual stays in recovery can vary, and a person's improvement can be assessed from time to time and an extension of rehab can be suggested contingent upon these findings.
In many cases, a regular outpatient treatment program may be lacking in intensity for a client who is attempting to address a bad drug and alcohol problem and has never experienced recovery previously or has fallen off the wagon following prior outpatient rehabilitation.
