Regular outpatient rehabilitation is mostly a less costly choice to more comprehensive outpatient centers or inpatient rehab, and is the least intense of formal alcohol or drug rehab available in Welsh. Some individuals are in treatment for their first time and have chosen regular outpatient because that is all they can afford and commitment to time wise and logistically because of school, work or other obligations. For some, regular outpatient is a "step-down" from rehab in a more intensive outpatient program such as a partial hospitalization or in-patient program.
Regular out-patient recovery options usually offer individual and group counseling services delivered once or twice a week. Programs which include a more diverse range of services may include counseling (CBT) to help with relapse prevention and dual diagnosis services to help respond to co-occurring addiction and mental health issues. How long someone remains in rehab can vary, and a person's improvement can be evaluated every now and then and an extension of rehab can be recommended contingent upon these conclusions.
In some cases, a regular outpatient recovery facility is going to be insufficient in intensity for a person who is attempting to address a chronic substance abuse issue and has not gone to treatment previously or has relapsed after prior outpatient rehabilitation.
