Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of outpatient alcohol and drug rehab program that is just below intensive outpatient and more intensive than normal out-patient rehabilitation. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help clients who require intensive treatment for a dual-diagnosis disorder, but don't require twenty-four hour intervention and care. For a person who has finished inpatient rehabilitation, a partial hospitalization day treatment program in Boyds could help them make the transition more easily into a sober lifestyle as a viable "step-down" option. Following partial hospitalization day treatment, the client could then transition over to regular outpatient treatment.
When a person is in a partial hospitalization day treatment program, they typically participate in services anywhere from 3-5 days per week. It is very much like an inpatient treatment program in many important ways, including the fact that people will have access tomental health professionals, physicians and nurses who can address the physical, emotional and psychological issues they are trying to overcome. For at least four to six hours on the days that individuals attend partial hospitalization day treatment, the clients will receive one-on-one addiction therapy, attend group counseling sessions, psychotherapy sessions, receive any necessary medical care and deal with any of the mental health problems that are triggering their drug addiction.
