Outpatient Mental Health Facility - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Programs - DHS, MD.

There are 3 different types of mental health treatment, including residential, outpatient, and hospital inpatient. Some people who require help for a mental health issue may want an outpatient option due to personal obligations or   due to the possible tarnishing of their reputation because of their problem. Most clients can still have a normal school or work day and get outpatient mental health care with full privacy and discretion.

Outpatient mental health facilities are either based in community health centers, private offices, or hospitals in DHS. The intensity of outpatient mental health treatment can be different from center to center, but can range from participation a few days a week to daily treatment. An outpatient mental health center will first conduct a complete evaluation of the person's medical history, both physical and mental, including their prescription drug and illicit drug history. Psychological evaluation is also a standard process, and clinicians and physicians will design a course of care that may include group therapy, marriage or couples counseling, family therapy, individual psychotherapy, etc. If the individual needing treatment also has a co-occurring disorder such as an alcohol or drug problem, many outpatient mental health programs are prepared to treat such a dual diagnosis.
