Alcohol and drug abuse programs for Military Vets are crucial for the mental well-being and overall stability of Vets of all branches of the armed forces. Because alcohol and drug abuse and other mental health disorders are found at higher than average rates among Vets, it is important that they get the help they need because of such high rates of suicide also associated with these disorders among our Vets.

Involvement in outside support such as AA and other support groups is encouraged. Medications are also used in some instances to help Veterans decrease their drug, alcohol and tobacco use.
