Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Facilities - Princess Anne, MD.

The armed forces currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retired military who are 60 years of age or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they have access to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which allows access to non-military health care providers within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can choose a primary care physician and get referrals to organizations that offer specialty care.

By way of TRICARE, military members can receive substance abuse treatment services in Princess Anne. This includes detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other various recovery services. They will need pre-authorization for services and there will most likely be some restrictions. Military insurance covers both inpatient and outpatient, but stays for detox are restricted to 7 days. Partial hospitalization or impatient treatment following detoxification will only be authorized if it is a Tricare approved treatment center, and there are time limits as to how long military members will be permitted to remain in treatment. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is commonly permitted. Additionally, there are 60 group therapy sessions and 15 family therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which are done on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has finished other primary rehabilitation services such as inpatient or outpatient treatment.
