It is also taken on a daily basis, and costs around $450 monthly. Naltrexone is an additional med used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs aforementioned it's an opiate blocker and is not an opioid. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly shot, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents an individual from experience being high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 per month.
