It is also taken on a daily basis, and is priced approximately $450 monthly. Naltrexone is another medication taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it is an opioid blocker and is not an opioid. There is an option to take this medication as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents an individual from feeling high from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 monthly.
