Military Insurance - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Facilities - Flint, MI.
The military currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, in addition to any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to non-military health care professionals within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can select a primary doctor and obtain referrals to health care services that offer specialty care.
Through TRICARE, military members can obtain drug and alcohol treatment services in Flint. This encompasses detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other various rehab services. They will need pre-authorization for services and there will most likely be some restrictions. Military insurance pays for both outpatient and inpatient, but stays for detoxification are limited to 7 days. An inpatient or partial hospitalization following detox will only be authorized if it is an approved facility, and there are time limits as to how long military members are allowed to remain in rehab. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is usually allowed. Additionally, there are 15 family therapy sessions and 60 group therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which are done on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has completed other rehabilitation services such as inpatient or outpatient treatment.
