Drug and alcohol treatment services are available in a diverse range of formats, so there is truly something for everyone in Ida. Treatment services may be offered in both an outpatient and inpatient basis, where outpatient services range from 1 or 2 days of treatment per week to intensive outpatient treatment which is done daily. Outpatient treatment services range from individual counseling and group counseling, to more advanced psychotherapies to modify behavior and motivate clients to stay sober.
Inpatient and residential rehabilitation is offered to individuals who suffer with more extensive histories of drug and alcohol abuse, spanning from 30 - 90 day programs. Some facilities offer what is called a Therapeutic Community model, where participants may stay up to a year in some cases. The longer someone remains in in the recovery program and benefits from services and a clean and sober environment, the greater their chances of staying sober and being able to do so without requiring that robust system of support. Services within an inpatient or residential drug treatment facility are often more diverse and will involve recovery services for addiction but also include services for co-occurring mental health disorders. Aftercare and relapse prevention services are essential even following long-term rehabilitation, and many programs recommend ongoing engagement in the program for a few months until the individual has progressed into a clean and sober way of life.
