The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to advance the mental health of the nation. One of its obligations is the oversight of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction.
