Naltrexone is another medication used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it is an opiate blocker and isn't an opiate. A person has the choice to take this drug as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents a person from experience being high from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 a month.
