Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Centers - Norwood, MN.

The armed forces currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retired military who are 60 or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they have access to any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to non-military health care providers within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can choose a primary doctor and get referrals to organizations that provide specialty care.

By way of TRICARE, members of the military can obtain substance abuse treatment services in Norwood. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other recovery services. They will require pre-authorization for services and there are likely to be some limitations. Military insurance pays for both outpatient and inpatient, but inpatient services for detoxification are restricted to no more than 7 days. An inpatient or partial hospitalization following detox will only be authorized if it is an approved treatment center, and there are time limits as to how long military members are permitted to stay in treatment. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is commonly allowed. Additionally, there are 15 family therapy sessions and 60 group therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which are done on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has finished other primary rehabilitation services such as outpatient or inpatient treatment.
