Naltrexone is an additional drug taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications mentioned here it's an opiate blocker and isn't an opioid. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly shot, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents someone from getting high from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 /month.
