Regular outpatient recovery is mostly a less expensive choice to more intensive outpatient options or inpatient recovery, and is the lowest intensity of formal drug or alcohol rehab around in Fair Play. Some individuals are attending rehab for the first time and have chosen regular outpatient because that is all they can afford and time commitment and scheduling because of work, school or other obligations. In some cases, regular outpatient is a step down from rehab in a more intense outpatient facility such as a partial hospitalization or inpatient program.
Regular outpatient recovery services usually offer group and individual counseling services delivered once maybe twice per week. Facilities that offer a wider range of services may include counseling (CBT) to help with relapse prevention and dual diagnosis services to help address co-occurring addiction and mental health issues. How long an individual stays involved in treatment can vary, and a person's progress can be evaluated occasionally and an extension of treatment can be suggested based on these evaluations.
In many cases, a regular outpatient recovery facility is going to be deficient in intensity for someone who is addressing a severe drug and alcohol issue and has never experienced rehab previously or has fallen off the wagon following previous outpatient rehab.
