Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for medical healthcare services for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For individuals who do have Medicare and require substance abuse rehab in Houston, this program will cover certain rehabilitation programs and treatment services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain kinds of treatment.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient drug and alcohol treatment, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but individuals will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers 190 days of inpatient care total, as in during the individual's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the costs for outpatient drug and alcohol treatment. This includes outpatient services, therapy, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and medications dispensed by clinics. It also pays for professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for clients who want supplemental coverage aside from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as those required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
