DWI Clients - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Programs - Oregon, MO.

DWI clients in treatment need to complete specific requirements to satisfy the terms of their court sentencing. Rehab programs which help fulfill these requirements and conditions, which are usually far more lenient than normal sentencing which would include steep fines and incarceration, are available in Oregon to provide DWI classes, group counseling, and further assessment for serious substance abuse problems.

Drug and Alcohol Education is a primary treatment tool used at rehab programs treating DWI clients. There are different levels of alcohol education and this can vary by state. Level I education generally include 12 hours of education about the effects and dangers of drugs and/or alcohol. This is the what someone with a first conviction or someone under 21 will ordinarily be required to complete. Level II courses would include both substance abuse education and therapy at a program which is approved by the courts. The duration the individual will be required to participate in therapy depends upon various factors, which can be, for example, how many DWI's the offender has had, and the severity of the violation. Most often individuals will be sentenced to the Level II classes and therapy unless their blood-alcohol level was very low when they were stopped and there weren't any other significant charges when the offender was arrested.
