Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Facilities - St. Louis, MO.

The armed forces currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retired military who are 60 or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, along with any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to non-military health care providers within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can pick a primary doctor and obtain referrals to health care services that offer specialty care.

Through TRICARE, military members can acquire drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in St. Louis. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other treatment services. They will need pre-authorization for treatment and there will most likely be some limitations. Military insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient, but inpatient services for detox are limited to 7 days. Partial hospitalization or impatient treatment following detox will only be authorized if it is an approved treatment center, and there are time limits as to how long military members will be allowed to remain in treatment. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is commonly permitted. Additionally, there are 60 group therapy sessions and 15 family therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which occur on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has completed other primary rehabilitation services such as outpatient or inpatient treatment.
