Naltrexone is an additional med used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it is an opioid blocker and isn't an opiate. A person has the choice to take this medication as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents an individual from experience being high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse.
