The military currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retired military who are 60 years of age or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which allows access to civilian health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can choose a primary care physician and get referrals to organizations that offer specialty care.
Through TRICARE, members of the military can obtain substance abuse treatment services in Collins. This encompasses detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other rehab services. They will need pre-authorization for services and there will most likely be some restrictions. Military insurance pays for both outpatient and inpatient, but inpatient services for detoxification are limited to 7 days.
