Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of outpatient drug and alcohol addiction treatment program which is just below intensive outpatient and more intensive than normal outpatient rehab. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also tailored to individuals who require intense treatment for a co-occurring mental health disorder, but do not require 24 hour intervention and care. For someone who has completed inpatient rehabilitation, a partial hospitalization day treatment program in Lakeshore could help them transition more easily into a sober way of life as a "step-down" option. Following partial hospitalization day treatment, the person could then phase over to regular out-patient care.
When a client is in a partial hospitalization day treatment center, they typically take part in services anywhere from 3-5 days per week. It is like an in-patient treatment program in many significant ways, including the fact that individuals will have access tonurses, physicians, and mental health professionals who can address the psychological, emotional, and physical issues they are trying to conquer. For at least four to six hours on the days that clients participate in partial hospitalization day treatment, the clients will receive one-on-one addiction therapy, attend group counseling sessions, psychotherapy sessions, receive any needed medical care and address any of the mental health issues that trigger their drug and alcohol addiction.
