Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for medical healthcare services for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for individuals who want additional health insurance apart from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C can have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as medications required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
