Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a kind of out-patient substance abuse rehabilitation program that is less than intensive out-patient and more intensive than regular outpatient rehab. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help clients who require intensive rehab for a dual-diagnosis disorder, but don't require twenty-four hour supervision and care. For a client who has completed inpatient rehabilitation, a partial hospitalization day treatment plan in Sims could help them transition more easily into a drug-free way of life as a "step-down" option. After partial hospitalization day treatment, the person could then phase into regular outpatient care.
When a person is in a partial hospitalization day treatment facility, they commonly participate in services anywhere from three to five days per week. It is like an inpatient treatment program in many significant ways, including the fact that clients will get access tonurses, physicians, and mental health professionals who can deal with the physical, emotional and psychological challenges they are trying to overcome. For at least four to six hours on the days that individuals participate in partial hospitalization day treatment, the clients will get individual addiction therapy, psychotherapy services, participate in group counseling, get any needed medical care and address any of the mental health symptoms that trigger their alcohol and drug addiction.
