Naltrexone is an additional medication taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it's an opiate blocker and isn't an opioid. There is an option to take this medication as a monthly shot, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents someone from getting high from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 a month.
