Halfway House - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Programs - Zap, ND.

When a person has rehabilitated from a drug or alcohol addiction, it's not as easy as starting life again where you left off. Returning to a positive and happy life takes time and a great deal of effort. A Halfway House, a.k.a. a Sober Living Facility, is an environment where recovering individuals can live in a drug and alcohol free and positive environment until they are able to live confidently on their own. Living in a Halfway House may be a requirement of a person's parole for example, or the individual could make the decision to live in a Halfway House of their own will after drug or alcohol treatment. Either way, occupants of a Halfway House are clean and striving to do what they need to do to get their lives back on track. This could mean, for example, getting one's GED, getting employment, etc.

Halfway Houses in Zap are run by people who in many cases were once residents of the house. How long a person is permitted to remain at the Halfway House will differ, but it's typically anywhere from a month to a couple of years. Residents must submit to alcohol and drug testing prior to entering the house, and this testing will happen intermittently to ensure there isn't any substance use in the house or addiction issues that would be more adequately addressed in an alcohol or drug rehabilitation program.
