It is also taken daily, and costs approximately $450 per month. Naltrexone is another med taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it is an opioid blocker and is not an opioid. There is an option to take this medication as a monthly shot, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents an individual from experience high feelings from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 monthly.
