Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for health benefits for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various types of medical care.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as those required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
