Spanish drug and alcohol rehab programs in Peru can help an ever-growing percentage of the American population address higher than average rates of drug and alcohol abuse that Hispanic men and women face in this country. One of the biggest hurdles Hispanic men and women face while tackling addiction problems is the availability of programs with staff prepared to deliver rehab services in their language. Another hurdle is that fact that many Hispanic people may not even be an U.S. citizen, hence won't have health insurance coverage to cover the cost of rehabilitation, and many are below the poverty line so can't self-pay either.
Because many aspects of an alcohol and drug treatment program revolve around one-on-one communication with therapists, physicians, etc. someone that speaks no English is at a disadvantage at a program where Spanish speaking services are not available to them. But there are programs which offer Spanish language services and staff who can be of help to them in their own language. Fortunately, a good number of these facilities understand the financial challenges that these clients also have, and offer rehabilitation at little or no cost. Spanish drug and alcohol treatment centers are most often located in the most densely populated areas of cities that Latinos live in.
