SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Programs - Center Conway, NH.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid rehab programs, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent people. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab programs in Center Conway are programs that are legally permitted to dispense the medicines used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get auxiliary services in addition to medication like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment facility can get their initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation facilities authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehab facility is certified, they need to get re-certified each year or every three years depending on the kind of accreditation that was granted.
