Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Programs - Nashua, NH.

The armed forces currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retired military who are 60 or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to non-military health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can pick a primary care physician and obtain referrals to organizations that offer specialty care.

By way of TRICARE, members of the military can acquire substance abuse treatment services in Nashua. This encompasses individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other various rehab services. They will need pre-authorization for services and there will most likely be some restrictions. Military insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient, but stays for detox are restricted to no more than 7 days. An inpatient or partial hospitalization following detox will only be authorized if it is an approved facility, and there are time limits as to how long military members are allowed to remain in treatment. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is usually permitted. Additionally, there are 60 group therapy sessions and 15 family therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which are done on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has completed prior rehabilitation services such as outpatient or inpatient treatment.
