Drug prescribed are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab programs in North Salem are programs which are officially permitted to dispense the medicines used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive auxiliary benefits in addition to medication like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehabilitation center can receive basic certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment facilities accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment program is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every 3 years depending on the type of certification it has been granted.
