Outpatient Detoxification - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Facilities - Flanders, NJ.

If a person is getting outpatient detox they must go to the center helping them with their detoxification every day or at minimum five days a week in most cases. Outpatient detox is either delivered in the daytime or evening, which makes it perfect for a person who must maintain a regular school or work schedule. Some programs may also provide ways to get detoxification treatment in either normal outpatient or outpatient day treatment, to augment detox services and try to prevent relapse.

A standard amount of time people participate in outpatient detox is approximately a week. A number of facilities use medically assisted detox approaches while others offer drug free detox treatement. There are times when meds are needed to avert life-threatening withdrawal symptoms, like with alcohol and benzodiazepine medications where seizures are sometimes an issue. Otherwise, staff at the facility help individuals handle their physical, emotional and psychological symptoms of cravings and withdrawal until they are detoxified and balanced.

While outpatient detox in Flanders is more flexible for apparent reasons, a severe disadvantage is that clients are at a higher chance of falling back into addiction due to the access they keep to drugs. Ideally, clients will transition into a log-term or short-term recovery facility to address the reasons for their addiction once outpatient or inpatient detoxification is finished.
