At clinics which treat methadone and buprenorphine clients only, actual rehabilitation activities and therapies are generally limited beyond this and the main treatment goal is to manage the physical symptoms of their dependence. Some programs do offer a limited amount of counseling and therapy as auxiliary treatment, and it is encouraged.
