There are recovery programs offered in or near Linden that cater to both methadone and buprenorphine clients only, drugs which are administered in what is called opioid maintenance therapy. Buprenorphine and methadone clients take these medications consistently so they don't experience cravings, withdrawal, etc. but ideally at a dosage which isn't at the same time making them feel high. Euphoria is possible at at higher dosages, more significantly with methadone than buprenorphine. At centers which treat methadone and buprenorphine clients only, actual rehabilitation activities and therapies are generally limited beyond this and the main treatment goal is to handle the withdrawal symptoms and put an end to the illicit drug use. Some centers do provide a limited amount of counseling and group therapy as auxiliary treatment, and it is recommended and encouraged.
