If an individual in New Brunswick needs drug abuse treatment but doesn't have health insurance or the money to pay for the recovery program in full, the Access to Recovery Voucher is possibly an alternative to consider. ATR is a federally-funded plan which provides the means for qualified people to access treatment programs and support including inpatient, regular outpatient, intensive outpatient, continuing care, counseling, life coaching and recovery support, skills building, vocational training, and transportation assistance. The ATR grant program allows individuals with vouchers to acquire treatment and recovery support services for drug abuse disorders at the provider of their choice. To qualify for ATR clients must fulfill certain requirements, including: 1) must be 18 years or older, 2) have a history of substance use or abuse, 3) have a yearly income that is below 200% of the Federal poverty level, and 4) reside in the counties or jurisdictions that provide ATR.
