Regular out-patient rehabilitation is mostly a less expensive alternative to more comprehensive outpatient options or inpatient rehabilitation, and is the lowest intensity of formal alcohol or drug rehabilitation available in Quay. Some clients are in rehab for the first time and have picked regular outpatient because of the cost and commitment to time wise and logistically because of school, work or other obligations. For many, regular outpatient is a "step-down" from rehab in a more intensive outpatient program such as a partial hospitalization or inpatient facility.
Regular out-patient rehabilitation services usually involve individual and group counseling services delivered once or twice a week. Centers that include a wider spectrum of services may include counseling (CBT) to help with relapse prevention and dual diagnosis services to help address co-occurring addiction and mental health disorders. How long a client remains in treatment can vary, and a client's improvement can be evaluated from time to time and more rehab can be suggested based on these conclusions.
In many cases, a regular outpatient rehab program is going to be deficient in intensity for an individual who is attempting to address a bad drug and alcohol problem and has not gone to recovery before or has fallen off the wagon following previous outpatient recovery.
