The armed forces currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 years of age or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, in addition to any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which allows access to civilian health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can choose a primary care physician and obtain referrals to organizations that provide specialty care.
Through TRICARE, military members can obtain drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Tonopah. This encompasses individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other rehabilitation services.
