Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for health care for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. For people that do have Medicare and require substance abuse treatment in Aurora, this program can pay for certain treatment programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain forms of medical care.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient substance rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but policy holders will have to pay a deductible. Individuals who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications associated with treating withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and those required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
