Naltrexone is an additional med taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned it is an opiate blocker and is not an opioid. There is an option to take this medication as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents a person from experience high feelings from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse.
